The initiative provides educators and students with resources for learning to work with Amazon Web Services.
Princeton University is a member institution of AWS Educate. Registered Princeton members receive twice as many AWS credits, demos, and offers on training. Professors, teaching assistants, and educators receive access to AWS technology, open source content for their courses, training resources, and a community of cloud evangelists. Students receive credits for hands-on experience with AWS technology, training, content, career pathways, and job board.

Note: One of the required fields in the application form is the AWS Account ID. If you do not yet have an AWS Account ID, see Knowledge Article KB0010151: Amazon Web Services: How do I sign up without using a credit card? and KB0010149, Amazon Web Services: Account FAQs for Princeton's Enterprise Agreement (EA).
It is possible for students (but not instructors) to sign up for an AWS Educate “Starter” account without using a credit card. When you register, you just need to select the radio button for the starter account rather than creating a standard account. Once you run out of credits, your starter account will be disabled/deleted. So you need to make sure that your data is backed up.
