It is recommended for most users to leave their Spam Detection Policy set to Default.

Click the Save button after making any changes to your Profile.

Requesting a Proofpoint End User Digest

You can manually request an End User Digest to be sent to you (rather than wait for Proofpoint to send the daily Digest). At the top of your Proofpoint Account page, select Options and then Request Digest. You will receive an End User Digest in your inbox in a few minutes.

Safe and Blocked Senders Lists

Proofpoint allows you to manage your safe and blocked senders. By adding an email address to your Safe Senders list your are ensuring that Proofpoint will deliver any messages from that sender to your inbox. Similarly, adding an email address to your Blocked Senders list will ensure that Proofpoint will quarantine any messages from that sender.

Managing your Safe Senders List

There are two ways to manage your Safe Sender List:

  1. Via the Proofpoint End User Digest Email: you can select the Release and Allow Sender link adjacent to each message in the End User Digest email. Selecting this link release the message to your inbox, and it also adds the sender's email address to your personal Safe Senders list so that future messages from this sender will not be quarantined.
  2. Via your Proofpoint Account: visit www.princeton.edu/proofpoint and click on Lists in the lower left corner of your Proofpoint Account page. Select Safe Senders List at the top of the page.
    • Adding to your Safe Senders List: Click the New button at the top of the page and enter the email address you wish to add to your Safe Sender List. Note that you can add entire domains (such as "@foofoo.com"); this will ensure all messages from senders with email addresses in this domain will be delivered to your inbox.
    • Editing Records: Check the box adjacent to the record you wish to edit and click the Edit button at the top of the page. Edit the record and click Update.
    • Deleting Records: Check the box adjacent to the record you wish to edit and click the Delete button at the top of the page. This will immediately delete the record from your Safe Senders list.

Managing your Blocked Senders List

Visit www.princeton.edu/proofpoint and click on Lists in the lower left corner of your Proofpoint Account page. Select Blocked Senders List at the top of the page.
