Users can perform basic editing on Zoom recordings in the cloud. This includes trimming, the beginning and end of the recording.
The host will need to navigate to:https://princeton.zoom.us/recording
This link will display all of the user's recordings saved in the cloud on their account. They will need to navigate to the specific recording, and click on the title to open up the recording details page.
On the recording details page, the user will need to click the video window to open up the playback of the recording.
Once that page is loaded, the user will see the options for playback: They can adjust the speed, by clicking the Scissors icon, they are able to trim the recording and they can choose for closed captioning to be on, or to go full screen.
To edit, they need to select the Scissors icon. A pop-up will appear warning that the edit is only available for on demand playback and the original file will still exist. This also means that if users can download the video, it will be the full video, not the edited version.
Once the user confirms the editing sliders appear on the video's timeline. The user can adjust those to the times that they wish to trim off.
Once the edits are completed, the user will need to click save to confirm.
This modification adjusts the playback range of the users viewing the recording online.
After the edits have been completed, the user can confirm by playing back the video, which will start and stop where they had set the times for.
