Installation requires a MathWorks account, see KB0011341.
- Browse to your downloads location and double click matlab_R20XX_glnxb64.zip (20XX signifies the year and version a or b)
- Extract to a folder of your choosing
Installing MATLAB
- Open folder MATLAB files were extracted to
- Launch Terminal
- Type sudo (add a space after sudo) drag the file called install into the Terminal window and press Enter
- Type password when prompted
- In the MathWorks Installer window, select Log in with a MathWorks Account and click Next
- Select Yes to accept the license agreement and click Next
- Select Log in to your MathWorks Account, type your Princeton email address and MathWorks password then click Next
- Select Install - Install on this computer and click Next
- Click Next to accept the default installation folder
- Click Next to accept the default products to install
- Enable Create symbolic links to MATLAB scripts and Disable Help Improve MATLAB check box then click Next
- Click Install
- Click Next if the Product Configuration Notes screen is displayed
- Select Activate MATLAB
- Click Next
- Click Next to Activate MathWorks Software
- In the Login Name text field type your local user account name and click Next
- Click Confirm
- Click Finish
