How to obtain the ethernet address of a network printer


Printing a printer configuration page (self-Test) will help you find the ethernet address of the printer. The configuration page lists many of the current settings and properties of the printer.

Xerox printers

1. Press the Menu Up (1) or the Menu (5) key and scroll to Print Menu.

2. Press the Item Up (2) or the Item Down (6) key and scroll to Configuration Sheet (this is called Configuration Page on some printer models).

3. Press the Enter (4) key to print the Configuration Sheet.

HP LaserJets

To print the configuration page, press and release the go button (big and round button) and job cancel button (upside down triangle button) simultaneously when the printer is in the ready mode. If you have an EIO card installed, a second page will print listing all of the EIO information.
