Most users who access Princeton University's Canvas Learning Management System do so with their University NetID and password. Some users, however, have special Canvas-only accounts that are not provisioned or managed by the University's Central Authentication Service. Persons with these Canvas-only accounts should follow the protocols listed below if they forget their Canvas password.
New passwords must be at least 8 characters and may contain any combination of letters, numbers, and symbols.
When participants in Princeton University's Community Auditor Program register with the University's CampusCE system, Canvas accounts are created at that time.
If you are a Community Auditor Program participant who has forgotten their Canvas password, you may reset your Canvas password through the Forgot Password link on the Canvas login page. Enter your Canvas ID that begins with “au_”. A recovery email will be sent to your registered email address.
To reset your CampusCE password, please visit the CampusCE password reset page and enter your CampusCE username and the email address you provided the University.
NOTE: Resetting your Canvas password will not change your CampusCE password. Likewise, resetting your CampusCE password will not change your Canvas password.
If you encounter issues when changing either your Canvas or Campus CE password, send an email to pucap@princeton.edu to request assistance. In your message, please be sure to include your Canvas ID or Campus CE username and the email address associated with your account.
If you are a participant in Princeton University's HPA Applicant Resources course who has forgotten their password, you may reset your Canvas password through the Forgot Password link on the Canvas login page. Enter your Canvas ID that begins with “hpa_", and a recovery email will be sent to your registered email address.
If you have trouble resetting your password through the Forgot Password link, please email canvas@princeton.edu for assistance. In your message, please include your Canvas ID and email address associated with your Canvas account.
If you are a Partnership Course participant who has forgotten their password, you may reset your Canvas password through the Forgot Password link on the Canvas login page. Enter your Canvas ID that begins with “is_”, and a recovery email will be sent to your registered email address.
Participants in Princeton University's Partnership Courses who have forgotten their password should send an email to canvas@princeton.edu. In your message, please provide your Canvas ID (it will begin with is_) and the email address associated with your Canvas@Princeton account.
