All faculty/staff institutional machines are eligible under Campus Agreement and Institutional Select.

To participate in Campus Agreement for the Windows operating system, the device must have been purchased with a legitimate, licensed copy of the Windows OS of Intel-based Mac OS.  Linux is not included nor are Apple Silicon-based (M1/M2) Macs.  If the device does not meet the OS requirements, or if the machine was built, to participate in Campus Agreement in the future, a retail OEM copy of the Windows OS must be purchased.

Personal Computer Eligibility 

All students, faculty, and staff (not including Princeton Plasma Physics) are eligible to download Office365 ProPlus at no cost.

Princeton University students, faculty, and staff have access to the Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus portal to obtain Office ProPlus for PC and for Mac at no charge. Princeton employees and students may download and install on up to five personal devices (computers, tablets, or phones) with Windows, OS X, iOS, or Android operating systems. Once a student is no longer enrolled at the University, or a faculty or staff member is no longer employed at the University, the software will not be usable.

Work at Home Rights for Operating System Eligibility

Students only can download the Windows operating system at no cost from Kivuto at https://princeton.onthehub.com

How to purchase for institutional installations

Go to www.princeton.edu/oitstore to purchase Microsoft Institutional Select products.

Orders placed after the 13th of the month, if not in stock, will not be available until after the 1st of the month.  Due to unforeseen circumstances, the license may not be available for up to 30 days.

How to install Microsoft Office on personally-owned computers

Go to https://www.office.com to download and install Office. You will need to log in with your Princeton email address (netID@princeton.edu) and password.

Before installing, please review the system requirements link available in the Office 365 portal to be sure your computer meets the hardware and operating system requirements.
