Duo First Time Setup

When you log in to a Princeton application for the first time, the Duo setup process will start automatically.  It is best to log in from a computer and have your mobile phone with you.

  1. From a computer, log in to a Princeton application e.g. Path to Princeton, your Princeton email or TigerHub.
  2. When you sign in, you'll be prompted in your browser for what authentication method you'd like to use. We recommend Duo Mobile.
  3. Enter your mobile phone number.
  4. Verify ownership by using the "Call me" or "Text me" option.
  5. Enter the 6-digit code, click Verify, and then click Continue.
  6. Now, download the Duo Mobile app on your phone.
  7. Open the Duo Mobile App on your mobile phone and click the "+Add" button at the top right.
  8. When prompted, scan the QR Code from the computer screen (you need to allow Duo camera access to scan the QR code)
    1. If you aren't able to scan the QR code, tap Get an activation link instead and then enter an email address you can access from your phone.  (a personal email is acceptable).
    2. This will send the activation link to your email. Follow the instructions in the email to activate the new account in Duo Mobile.

Difficulties activating?  Contact Information Technology. We can send you an activation link instead.
